Free Hand Madness

Hello Again!

Last year I was given a challenge by a group of nerdy college students to create some Pokémon hats. The only problem? Ravelry only has two Pokémon hat patterns, neither of which were the Pokémon asked for. So, I had to free hand some pretty complex hats, and I decided to skip one altogether, as it is just too out there. The picture below shows the four hats that I have completed. They are Scrafty (orange dude on the head), Cyndaquil (blue and yellow behind the 3DS), Vaporeon (multi blue in the front), and Wobbuffet (solid blue).

And I still have a few more hats to make. One is already half way done, and the picture below shows the beginnings of Pikachu and Mew.

Happy New Year!

Hello again and a very happy near year to everyone!

2013 was a great year for me as far as crafting went. I made lots of amazing hats and sold most of them. I challenged myself to knit a Doctor Who scarf and ended up with two of them. And I worked on some beautiful cross stitch projects. And 2014 is shaping up as a great year for more crafting.

I have set two challenges for myself so far. The first is a neat little project that includes Pi to a certain decimal point with the symbol behind the list. Grab the pattern for yourself from this Etsy page. Below is a picture of how far I have gotten and you can see that I am having some fun with my pattern. I am working on a navy blue 14 count fabric with white numbers. I plan on using a bright red for the Pi symbol. Isn't it fun to change up details on a pattern?

The second challenge is a cross stitched version of the Exploding Tardis from Doctor Who. Sorry, I don't have a picture of that one yet. It is 6 pages long, and is being worked on a 16 count.

What kind of great projects do you have planed for the new year? I would love to hear about them in the comments!
